This is a delicious way to eat cabbage AND it's only 1 point for blue, green and purple!

Plus it has bacon!! Bacon added to anything makes it better. 🙂

The serving size will depend on the size of your head of cabbage, but each serving was 1 heaping cup.

That's a large serving for only 1 point!

This Sauteed Cabbage with Bacon goes great with chicken, pork or even a burger!

I started this dish by cooking up the bacon. When the bacon was done I set it aside.

You don't want to clean out the pan! I used the bacon grease to cook the onions and the cabbage.

I made sure to add points for the bacon grease. Even with that it only came to 1 point per serving.

I use center cut bacon, it's not quite as greasy as regular bacon.

It only takes about 10 minutes to saute the cabbage. While it's cooking I broke up the bacon into small pieces.

Once the cabbage was cooked I added the bacon back in, then served it!

Easy peasy!

Yield: 4 servings (1 point per serving for blue, green and purple)

  • 2 slices center cut bacon
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 head of green cabbage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  1. Start by cooking the bacon in a skillet. Once it's cooked remove the bacon. Do not clean out the pan.

  2. Add the chopped onion and let that cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core, then thinly slice the cabbage.

  4. Add the cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Let cook for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
